Coaching Services
Whether you landed here curious about coaching or therapy this space is meant to help you understand your options. I value transparency, consent, and care in every part of this work.
In addition to my work as a licensed therapist in California, I offer coaching services that are distinct from clinical therapy. Coaching services are non-clinical and distinct from psychotherapy. While my coaching experience includes training through my California Wellness Coach certification, coaching is not a licensed healthcare service and may be offered to clients throughout the United States. Below is a breakdown of what each is, how they differ, and how to choose the right fit for you.
-
Coaching is a supportive, growth-oriented partnership for people who want:
Clearer goals and values
Accountability for change
Support navigating transitions (career, life, confidence, identity)
Tools to strengthen communication, leadership, or decision-making
A forward-focused, action-oriented plan
Coaching is often:
A place to receive advice, instructions, or step-by-step life planning
Focused on goal achievement or productivity
Designed primarily for accountability or performance outcomes
Coaching is non-clinical — which means it’s not about diagnosing or treating psychological disorders — it’s about helping you articulate what matters to you and build momentum toward it. It’s present- and future-focused, grounded in collaboration rather than clinical intervention.
Typical coaching outcomes include:
Increased clarity and confidence
Practical strategies for goal achievement
Accountability and reflection support
A step-by-step roadmap for personal or professional growth
Coaching is ideal when you’re functioning well emotionally, behaviorally, and socially but are more extrinsically motivated and want structured support to reach the next level in your life, work, or relationships.
-
Coaching is not psychotherapy — and it does not include:
Clinical assessment or diagnosis
Treatment for anxiety, depression, trauma, or other mental health conditions
Crisis intervention or emergency support
Insurance-covered clinical treatments
Important Note:
Coaching is not a substitute for mental health treatment, crisis support, or psychotherapy. It is not appropriate for addressing acute emotional distress, trauma processing, or clinical diagnoses. If you are in need of therapeutic support, I am happy to provide referrals to licensed mental health professionals in your area.
