Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT 160044)

I transitioned into therapy after a career in education, corporate, and nonprofit sectors, where I witnessed the impact of trauma on individuals from all walks of life—from young people to executive leaders. My curiosity about trauma deepened during my first Master’s program, as I sought to understand how we can reconnect with our bodies to heal and recover from survival. How do we move toward life beyond hardship?

As a Black, queer, therapist in California; I’m committed to providing affirming care that supports people in all the ways they show up. Therapy is an act of activism—liberating ourselves through improved mental health is powerful, political work. Exploring our bodies and identities in the context of how we relate to the world and how the world relates to us is a brave, deeply human journey. I’m honored you’ve arrived here, ready to start or continue your healing process.

Specializations

Couples Therapy

Supporting couples therapy for interracial, BIPOC, queer, polyamorous (poly/ENM), parents, and inter-gender (cis/trans/nb) relationships. My client-centered, integrative approach helps couples improve communication, set boundaries, and navigate identity and relationship dynamics.

Individual Therapy

Supporting individuals dealing with low mood, anxiety, and other mental health challenges, with a focus on BIPOC, single/non-partnered folks, parents, and engaged with treatment teams (such as herbalist, psychiatry, or Sponsors). My approach also addresses the unique experiences of women, disability, masculinity/boi/manhood, and the needs of queer, trans, and non-binary individuals.

System-Impacted

Supporting youth, adults, and couples impacted by foster care, child welfare/CPS, foster-to-adopt, and psychiatric/behavioral health systems. My approach focuses on healing from trauma, navigating complex family dynamics, and building resilience.

Youth in Transition (teen-25)

Supporting transitional-aged clients through identity development (gender, race, sexuality, work) and life transitions (school, college, relocation, career). My approach helps young people navigate family dynamics, career counseling, relationship issues, and social/friendship challenges.

Gender-Affirming Treatment

I specialize in gender-affirming treatment, including hormone therapy and surgical letters, as well as adolescent and family assessments. My approach supports individuals in navigating their gender journey with care and compassion, helping clients and families.

Sex-Positive Therapy

I work to create a therapeutic environment where you can openly explore your sexuality, identity, and mental health without fear of stigma. As a sex-positive, kink-positive, and sex worker-affirming therapist I am committed to providing affirming care that honors all aspects of your identity and experiences. I believe that sex work is real work, and I offer a supportive, non-judgmental space for individuals in the sex work community, those with kink interests, and anyone navigating sexual health challenges.

Approach & Practice

My approach is client-centered (what works for you), relational (how you connect and feel connected to others), and integrative (draws on various techniques). I especially support clients in exploring and identifying unhelpful patterns and behaviors, establishing boundaries, and identifying and navigating choice to find a sense of security in their lives.

Communication Style

Sometimes we'll get into it, I'll be pointing at some of the deep and vulnerable parts to promote change - and sometimes we'll redirect to more macro challenges. I am honest, and I will never judge you for using the skills you learned to survive for as long as you did. Let's work on some new skills and approaches together. I'm so glad you got here.

Goal Setting

I am a collaborative therapist. I believe in co-creating goals that are measurable, accessible, and flexible. Goals are often created from a black and white place, which can promote feelings of failure or "not enough". I support clients in reframing their goals from a place of increased insight and review goals throughout treatment so we're aligned.

Our First Session

In my first session, I review your mental health journey, your relationships with friends and family, and your overall sense of self, community, and life trajectory. My first session allows clients the opportunity to also ask me questions about my experience, our process together, and gain a sense of who I am as a collaborator in their care.

I provide individual and couples therapy for California residents only at Pershing Square Therapy via Telehealth. Pershing Square Therapy is a trans-owned and operated group practice based in Los Angeles.

Geek Therapist

As a Geek Therapist, I specialize in supporting clients who connect with geek culture—whether you’re a fan of anime, video games, role-playing games, cosplay, films, TV shows, books, or all of the above. Therapy, much like the hero’s journey we see in these stories, is about transformation, overcoming challenges, and discovering your true self. If you’re someone who identifies with geek culture and is looking for mental health support that resonates with your interests, you’ve come to the right place.

I take a client-centered, integrative approach, combining evidence-based therapeutic techniques with a deep understanding of how geek culture shapes our experiences. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, social anxiety, stress, building connections, or relationship challenges, my goal is to guide you through your personal hero’s journey—helping you confront and overcome obstacles..

Through our work together, we’ll use the narratives, archetypes, and therapeutic themes as a way to explore your mental health and find healing. Therapy becomes a transformative experience where you not only navigate life’s struggles but also tap into your inner strength, just like the heroes (and villains) in the stories you love.

If you’re looking for a therapist for gamers, anime, book lovers, and film fans seeking therapy, or someone who understands the power of geek culture in navigating mental health, I’m here to walk with you through every step of your journey. Together, we’ll work toward healing, self-empowerment, and a deeper connection to yourself and others.
